1+random

This cardboard installation describes process during which every other deed is based on randomity and every other to the artist's decision. The work consists of one hundred cardboard pieces; every piece has a square formed hole. I wrote a tiny computer program which counted measures of the hole to be cut to each cardboard piece and the placement of the hole by using random algorithm. I placed the pieces to the exhibition space so that my program decided the placement and position of every other piece. Then I composed the placement of every other piece. My action in this work is reacting to the decisions made by the computer program. Work was done to the Purnu 2004 exhibition at Orivesi, Finland.
